PHARMADISHA is an orientation programme designed for fresh PG students (1st SEM M.Pharm) of Pharmacy to introduce them to the learning and research processes of PG Course that is designed under the name PharmaDisha. In addition, PHARMADISHA is designed to the give insight into the Pharma Spectrum.
To enhancing the quality of profession of Pharmacy and upgrading the skills of pharmacy professionals in the state, KSPC has already introduced several schemes and programs towards betterment of profession of Pharmacy. In addition, KSPC plans to introduce the following programs
  • Continuing Pharmacy Education program for Registered Pharmacists
  • Orientation program for PG students of Pharmacy
  • Training the trainer program for Teachers of Pharmacy
These programs are expected to enhance the quality of practicing Pharmacists, academic and research activities at institutional level, so that all the professionals are empowered with professional skills to face the challenges of the profession of Pharmacy. In continuing with this thinking, an informal meeting with the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) was held and it was mutually agreed and decided to enter a MOU between KSPC and RGUHS, Karnataka for conducting two programs as listed below:
  • Orientation program for PG students of Pharmacy
  • Training of trainers for Teachers of Pharmacy
  • The profession of Pharmacy has evolved from simple compounding to complex process of drug discovery and to play a pivotal role at bedside therapy. In this fast-evolving profession and ever increasing demand for skilled manpower, training the skilled professional is a challenge. In addition, with availability of rich information and ever-increasing information burden, it is the need of the hour to retain the students in the classroom so that they learn to integrate, identify and to adopt the information in accordance with the professional needs
  • Further it is also essential to generate new Pharmaceutical knowledge and adopt such knowledge through aptly designed research at institutional level. In this connection it is essential to train the trainers of Pharmacy not only for academic activities but also for undertaking advance research activities so that the teachers are equipped with skills to design research projects and apply for suitable funding agencies. This will enhance the quality of research and reputation of institution and the university, which will be highly useful for accreditation of institution and university.
  • Keeping these aspects in view, RGUHS designed a program called Basic Course in Teaching Methodology. KSPC thought that it can contribute to this profession-building activity, and hence planned to associate with RGUHS in this regard.
  • It is a challenge for a teacher to communicate the concept and evaluate the students. The teachers need to be trained in this regard. Therefore, this program is designed to equip the teachers with teaching and assessing methodology
  • RGUHS has already implemented the program in an efficient way and is running successfully. This program helps in enhancing the teaching standards at both UG and PG levels, which results in improving the quality of the output of the pharmacy institutions.
